Each post a collection of photos, sometimes taken in hiking boots, sometimes on skis, sometimes from a kayak. Always taken while overwhelmed with wonder.

Stocking Stuffer Show at Shorelake Arts Gallery

December 03, 2022

UPDATE - All my prints have sold, thank you!

I am excited to be participating in the Stocking Stuffer Show at the Shorelake Arts Gallery in Lake Forest Park this season. The show runs through 12/31 - New Years Eve. These prints are among many lovely pieces by local artists that measure under 12 inches, an excellent gifting size.

I have three pieces there, a framed bamboo print of Resilience, a framed bamboo print of Sylvan Mystery, and an 8x12 metal print of Spectrum

Fall color at Snoqualmie Pass

Fall color was fading, but the spirea was still stunning

Lingering Autumn in the Mountains

These are a few selections from a short wander on the Pacific Crest Trail at Snoqualmie Pass. Through Summit West, and down to Lodge Lake.

Reflections in Lodge Lake

An afternoon at Lodge Lake. I loved the glow of the sunlight as it hit the snags.

Hiking through the ski area adds some extra interest.

A Mysterious Evening in the North Cascades

September 05, 2022

A beautiful evening hiking Sauk Mountain. The clouds drifted in and out. Sometimes we were completely encased in the mist, and only a few minutes later treated to the view this mountain is known for. Here are a few pictures from the trail and the top.

An amazing pink glow as the long light reached the clouds

A black and white treatment of a subalpine hillside

Thankful for people like these to share the summit with.

A Night in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness

August 21, 2022

A sliver of the Selkirk Mountains reach into the northeast corner of Washington.

We spent a July weekend out there, before the wildfires began, and were treated to some amazing weather. The beargrass was blooming beautifully and we could see for miles.

(I’m choosing not to remember the terrible bugs.)

The Small Spring

A recent visit with family on Fidalgo Island on a rainy weekend made for some beautiful tiny scenes between (and during) the raindrops.

A great blue heron perched on a rock at sunset at Rosario Beach

The silhouette of a great blue heron perched on a rock at sunset. I loved the texture on the water!

I am pretty sure this is sea blush, but please leave a note in the comments if I’ve got that wrong! One of my goals for the year is to learn more about less photographed wildflowers in the area.
